Rüsselsheim/Frankfurt. “The new Opel Astra is nothing less than a quantum leap for the compact class in terms of efficiency, connectivity and sportiness,” says Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann, announcing the world premiere of the Opel bestseller at this year’s International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt. The Opel Group CEO and team invite all journalists to the Opel Press Conference on September 15, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at Stand D09 in Hall 8.0.
With GM CEO Mary Barra in attendance, Dr. Neumann will present the brand-new Opel Astra in and around the over 3,300 square meter Astra Galaxy-shaped booth. Lighter, more compact and agile with more generous interior space, the next generation of the bestseller showcases how Opel enters a new era in compact class efficiency. The lightweight-design Astra is powered exclusively by newest-generation engines. It features numerous safety and assistance systems that are unrivalled or even make their premiere in this class, such as the groundbreaking glare-free IntelliLux LED® matrix light system. The Astra is also the first new Opel model that comes with Opel OnStar right from market launch. The personal connectivity and service assistant ensures highest safety and best connectivity around the clock. In addition, the next generation of the IntelliLink infotainment system debuts two new devices, enabling top smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
