Opel News - Adventurer: The Opel Mokka X is the perfect holiday companion.

Rüsselsheim. The days are getting longer, temperatures are rising and the summer holiday period across Europe is approaching fast. It is therefore high time to start planning the travel route and looking forward to a relaxing trip with Opel. A trio of vehicles is especially suitable for this: The bestselling Opel Mokka X, the compact Opel Astra Sports Tourer and the versatile Opel Zafira. Actually, two further models would also be highly suitable – but the new Opel Insignia Sports Tourer and the new Opel Crossland X will only be at dealerships from June 24. Nonetheless, the versatile Mokka X, Astra Sports Tourer and Zafira cover all bases and ensure that every trip is a memorable experience – no matter whether the destination is in the Alps or Pyrenees or a seaside resort.

The vacation already starts when getting into an Opel thanks to the standard comfort seats and premium ergonomic seats certified by the AGR (Aktion Gesunder Rücken e.V.) back specialists. The ultra-modern seats enable everybody to find the ideal sitting position thanks to the numerous adjustment functions. The AGR seats ensure that even the warmest weather does not prevent a relaxing trip thanks to their unique combination of side bolster adjustment, massage function, and cooling ventilation. The standard air-conditioning and the optional two-zone automatic climate control, with which the driver and front passenger can individually adjust the temperature according to their preference, offer additional comfort.

Elsewhere, Opel has also thought of people who enjoy fresh air. The electric glass sun roof available for the Astra Sports Tourer and the Mokka X provides a gentle, refreshing breeze. Occupants don’t even get too hot when the sun roof is closed thanks to a sun protection blind. The Solar Protect heat-absorbing glazing also supports pleasant temperatures in the car. These tinted rear windows are even standard in some variants. Just like the Solar Reflect windscreen in the new Opel Mokka X. Thanks to a special coating, the new compact SUV’s interior doesn’t heat up so quickly and stays pleasantly cool. Furthermore, tailored sun visors for the rear and side windows protect passengers in the rear and the luggage in the trunk from excessive amounts of ultraviolet rays. The numerous accessories for all Opel models ranging from A(DAM) to Z(afira) are listed in the new Opel+ Accessories magazine available at every Opel dealer and under www.opel-accessories.com.

Turns night into day: The Opel LED technology

Those who prefer to travel during the night can rely on Opel’s LED technology to provide outstanding visibility. Both the Mokka X and the Zafira bring AFL (Adaptive Forward Lighting) LED headlamps to the compact van and compact SUV segment and guide the way to the holiday destination on cool summer nights.

The award-winning IntelliLux LED® matrix headlights in the Opel Astra Sports Tourer represent a premium-level technology. Consisting of 16 LED segments – eight on each side of the vehicle – the LED matrix system automatically and constantly adapts the length and distribution of the light beam to every traffic situation. As soon as the vehicle exits urban areas, the high-beam lighting is automatically switched on. When the Opel Eye front camera detects light sources from oncoming or preceding traffic, individual LEDs in the relevant zone are deactivated, simply “cutting out” the area around the vehicles, thus enabling Astra drivers to keep full beam on without dazzling other road users.

Great entertainment thanks to Opel OnStar and IntelliLink systems

Opel News - Everything fits: The Opel Astra Sports Tourer can carry a lot of luggage thanks to its trunk volume of up to 1,630 liters.

Opel also has some clever solutions to eliminate any danger of boredom during long freeway journeys. One of these solutions even comes as standard in most variants of the Astra Sports Tourer, the Mokka X and the Zafira Opel OnStar. The personal connectivity and service assistant offers numerous services ranging from Automatic Crash Response to Stolen Vehicle Assistance. And with the holiday season approaching, OnStar has extended its portfolio by further services such as hotel room booking[1] and parking spot search[2] via one of the personal OnStar Advisors. However, the system is not just a guardian angel and organizer but also ensures outstanding entertainment with its powerful 4G/LTE Wi-Fi hotspot[3]. Occupants can connect all of their devices to the internet thus ensuring an entertaining journey. Passengers in the rear can take advantage of another practical solution in the FlexConnect adaptor. The system enables tablets to be mounted to the front seat headrests and the children in the back can play their games or watch videos in comfort.

Occupants also have access to the most important features of their Apple and Android smartphone thanks to the modern IntelliLink infotainment system such as the standard Radio R 4.0. Those who want to their music in especially high sound quality can choose between top-of-the-range sound systems ranging from Bose to Infinity depending on the Opel model. In addition, the IntelliLink navigation systems ensure outstanding entertainment and reliable route guidance. Both the Opel Astra Sports Tourer and the Opel Mokka X are optionally available with the ultra-modern Navi 900 IntelliLink, the Opel Zafira can be ordered with Navi 950 IntelliLink.

Easy with Opel: Transporting surf boards, kayaks or bikes

Depending on the model, the Opel vehicles offer excellent trunk volume in their respective segment. The maximum loading capacity of the Mokka X is 1,372 liters, the Astra Sports Tourer boasts 1,630 liters and the Zafira leads the way with 1,860 liters. But that is not all: Base carriers for the Opel roof box or various Thule roof boxes can be fitted quickly. This increases the luggage volume by up to 470 liters and creates additional space for souvenirs.

Even bulky water sports items can be stored safely in, or rather on top of the car thanks to the clever systems. Surf board or Kayak carriers can be attached to the base carrier, thus enabling the items to be transported on the roof of the Opel Mokka X and Opel Zafira. People who prefer adventures in the mountains can do this to their heart’s desire in the Opel Mokka X with its optional all-wheel drive. The adaptive 4x4 system offers outstanding grip on all surfaces and exudes driving pleasure. Both the Mokka X and the Zafira can easily transport up to four bicycles thanks to the integrated FlexFix bicycle carrier.

Panorama roof and FlexRail center console: clever solutions in the Opel Zafira

Opel News - Comfortable lounge on wheels: The Opel Zafira offers space for up to seven people or a trunk volume of up to 1,860 liters.

The rule is general knowledge - especially in summer, it is important to drink a lot. So drinks should also be within reach in the car. Those driving alone can put their beverage in the cup-holder in the center console. A bottle can be secured on the passenger seat with a net, so it doesn’t roll off during braking. The FlexRail® center console in the Opel Zafira is especially practical. The system with flexible modules includes a large storage compartment and cup-holders that slide to exactly the desired position on aluminum rails. Bottles up to 1.5 liters can be stored in the front door pockets, while one-liter bottles fit in the rear door recesses. Even when seven people are on board the Zafia, the two passengers in the third row don’t have to forgo this comfort, as the center console there also has two cup-holders.

Thanks to the optional panorama windscreen and panorama sunroof, the Zafira makes occupants feel like they’re on vacation the minute they set off on their journey. The windscreen stretches from the hood almost to the B-pillar. Especially passengers have an unobstructed view upwards. The panorama sunroof reaches from the windscreen to the rear of the car, enhancing the interior’s light and airy lounge atmosphere.

The holiday season can come thanks to the Zafira, the Astra Sports Tourer and the Mokka X. However, as previously mentioned Opel have further aces up their sleeve for some customers. The new Opel Insignia Sports Tourer and the new Opel Crossland X are on their way to dealerships and could make a big splash in the summer.
