Both as coupé and cabrio the Opel Astra TwinTop is designed to impress. The innovative space-saving 3-piece roof raises and lowers in just 30 seconds, either by remote control when parked, or by press button at speeds up to 30 km/h.
Open or closed the Astra TwinTop is a full 4-seater convertible. Also the curvaceous upswept lines, wide stance, sculpted wheel arches, honeycomb radiator grille and wrap-around 3D rear lights, all emphasise the elegant sports style.
Interior Design
The cockpit of the Opel Astra TwinTop is also unmistakable. The V-shaped front section and the typical central crease line of the engine hood are carried over into the laterally-angled central console, which encompasses all the operating elements of the high-quality infotainment and air-conditioning systems.
Passive safety
The Opel SAFETEC® system ensures that all active and passive safety features and equipment work together efficiently and instantaneously to protect the occupants. The basis of this is a rigid reinforced safety cell, complemented by full-size front and side airbags. The front seat belts have pretensioners and force limiters as standard, and active head restraints are available as part of the Seat Comfort Pack 2.
The chassis has been specially reinforced to balance the absence of the roof structure, adding extra protective strength in impact situations. High-strength steel tubes in the A-pillars are designed to protect all of the occupants if any threat of overturning occurs. Altogether, this forms a perfect stable and rigid platform for all of the Astra TwinTop active safety equipment.
Roof system
The 3-piece hardtop harmonizes perfectly with the overall design, by folding down neatly in the boot, yet still offering generous luggage space. It can be opened and closed whilst driving up to a speed of 30 km/h. Remote-controlled operation via key is also available.
Generous seating and luggage space
A major benefit of the innovative roof design is that the Opel Astra TwinTop is a full four-seater, with enough room for everyone’s luggage and a load-through facility for long items. With the easyload-function the folded roof moves up at a touch of a button by 25 cm, for good access to the luggage compartment and enabling larger pieces to be stowed easily.
