The new Opel Vivaro introduces a new range of common rail diesel engines. From just 1.6 liters capacity they deliver power outputs of 66 kW (90 hp) to 103 kW (140 hp) with hard-working torque outputs frugal consumption and low emissions.
The engine range of the new Opel Vivaro features a number of technical advances including:
Variable geometry turbo-charging or BiTurbo technology to increase power, eliminate turbo lag and reduce emissions by working efficiently with the variable swirl combustion system.
Regeneration of the particle filter means that at periodic intervals short post-injections enable the necessary temperature in the exhaust line without impacting engine performance. Low-pressure Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) further reduces emissions without power loss.
The ecoFLEX badge says a lot about your attitude to the environment and operating efficiency. The highly economic 1.6 CDTI ecoFLEX with 66 kW (90 hp), together with the standard Start/Stop System, cuts fuel consumption to zero whenever the new Opel Vivaro halts, reducing wasted fuel and your impact on the environment. And it shares a whole host of other energy saving technologies, such as regenerative braking, a maintenance free diesel particle filter and state of the art fuel injection and variable geometry turbo charging. Whatever your light commercial needs, check out ecoFLEX as one extra step towards a cleaner, more efficient business presence.
In addition to the optional Start/Stop system, an energy saving on-off water pump that works only when needed and variable displacement oil pump that provides exactly the right amount of lubricant cut natural energy wastage.
Smart regenerative charging reduces consumption and emissions by selectively charging the battery mainly when there is spare energy available during braking and deceleration.
Maintenance-free timing chain and diesel particle filter help reduce service costs and downtime contributing to major service intervals of up to 2 years/40,000 km.
Fuel consumption in l/100 km: urban 7.8, extra-urban 5.7, combined 6.5; CO2 emission in g/km: combined 170.
