Highly responsive

The new Opel Astra GTC powertrain line-up features petrol engines ranging from 74 kW (100 hp) to 132 kW (180 hp) and turbo diesel engines ranging from 81 kW (110 hp) to 121 kW (165 hp). All engines meet the Euro 5 emission standards.

All turbo and diesel models are available with the precise shifting 6-speed manual transmission, the 1.4 Turbo with 103 kW (140 hp) petrol version and the 2.0 CDTI 121 kW (165 hp) diesel engine both offer the option of 6-speed automatic. The Start/Stop System is available on all manual versions except 1.8 103 kW (140 hp) and the 1.6 Turbo with 132 kW (180 hp).

Please note that the model available for Singapore is currently the 1.4L Turbo 140hp petrol variant.

Start/Stop System

The Start/Stop System optimizes fuel savings, especially in city traffic. The engine stops when the car comes to a standstill with transmission in neutral and starts instantly as soon as the clutch pedal is being activated again. The system can be activated/deactivated via a button on the instrument panel. When the system is active and the engine is stopped, the rev-counter needle goes to the labeled “AUTOSTOP” position to signal readiness for automatic start. The Start/Stop System uses an enhanced generator, starter, and a specific battery.

Fuel consumption in l/100 km: urban 9.1–4.6 l/100 km, extra-urban 5.8–3.7 l/100 km, combined 7.0–4.0; CO2 emissions in g/km: combined 164–107.
